Rob is a native of Maryland, who now calls Pennsylvania home with his wife and three daughters. Rob came to us with an impressive record of public service. He spent six years in the Army National Guard, ending his career there as a Non-Commissioned Officer. While in the Army, he was the winner of the Maryland Army National Guard Best Soldier Competition and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal among several other honors. He also served over 18 years working as a firefighter/paramedic, ending that career as a Lieutenant with the one of the most well-known fire departments in the world, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. He also served on the highly publicized, international Search and Rescue Team, Virginia Task Force 1. While Rob says that the best leadership training one could ever get is in the U.S. military, he also values his extensive formal leadership training in the fire department. This fueled a passion to influence others to be the best they can be and live up to their full potential.
Our founder, Brian Broberg, met Rob after finding out that he was a volunteer teaching personal finance courses in our local area. After a few short conversations, they quickly hit it off. (Their common roots in the military are a no-brainer.) Eighteen months later in July of 2019, Brian offered him an opportunity to join our firm. He has the experience and leadership skills necessary to carry on with the firm's 25-year tradition of serving people and their financial needs well. We're very glad he's with us!
One of his favorite quotes is:
“Since it is so likely that children will meet cruel enemies, let them at least have heard of brave knights and heroic courage.” -C.S. Lewis
